this product is a good concept, but does require the owner to maintain it on a daily basis. Foor, hair and general debris will collect in the filter area, and the area where the pump connects to the water channeling control lever. This product does not displace the cat's desire to drink out of the kitchen faucet. The unit makes enough noise to be distracting in a quiet room (not a "fountain" noise, but rather a "motor" noise.)
